View Full Version : Torque Boxes & Axle Shafts

I recommend doing this for those of youwho are Mustang owners that have a Solid Rear End.... Oranga Stang suggested this while I was at Fun Ford and really didnt have a clue why I had to do it.... Once I saw the weakness' in the Torque Boxes, I knew that I needed to get em welded.... here are some pics taken from my cell phone when the work was done.....

those are nice welds! those that have F bodied cars can do this also. the next time i make it out to GFORCE I'll look and see where they welded up on the chassis but i know they have the axle tubes done. as for irs's some body please correct me if i'm wrong but if you can swap an irs for solid rear and vice virsa then the torque boxes have to be there the irs cars might not use them but i bet they are still there i know our bmw had the upper and lower control arms attached from the body to the spindles i havent paid much attention to the cobras so i don't know how they are set up!

Franco, Mike, and J.D. are you entertaining the idea of coming over to the dark side? i believe you already have diablosport, you visit to often and you'll be spending the money on sct :thumbs:
