Ok, in attempt to make a long story short. I got engaged to my military bf, we broke it off, he didn't want the ring, he got married to someone else a few months later.

The ring is a titanium tension ring. Tension is the setting and it means you can see the full diamond instead of it being set in the metal. It has an engraving on the inside that says 'I am my beloved's and he is mine.' in Gaelic. It's worth about $1,600 even though he bought it for a little more than that. I have the certificate of authentication and all the info on the ring if you are interested. I'm not in a huge hurry to get rid of it, but I figured I'd see if anyone wanted it...I'm sure not going to be wearing it again.

Lol, no that's the guy I'm dating now. He's very nice, and the guy that...well...got married to another girl so soon after we broke up...he doesn't really need taken care of since he's now got his wife.
However... I can think of some guy in a red pickup that followed me home one night and an ex from 3 years ago that could both probably use a 'talking to'. Lol, but no, the guy at the bbq doesn't need to be taken care of ... he needs to be sympathized with since he puts up with me.

Yeah, I dunno. It's hard to keep a long distance relationship when your intended moves to germany. It's really a lot of work on both sides. I suppose I wasn't meat to be though, since he's already found someone else to take the leap. I wish them the best though, he's a good guy. I just don't really want to keep the ring around, call it spite... I was thinking...carburetor. So yeah, spred the word and help me sell it. It's a beautiful ring.

Over a grand would be nice. He did pay 1600 for it, and it's not damaged or anything. It's absolutely beautiful though. I'm not sure, I'm not in a huge hurry to sell it, but I figured I'd just throw the idea out there. Another plus...it's titanium, there's not going to be much you can do to it to mess it up. That's the same metal they make some of the b2 spirit bombers out of.

I'll be in the market for a ring once i have some cash...but i think my gf doesn't like that style...not to mention she said it needs to be white gold....or platinum.

you ought to just keep it and trade it in when ever you get ready to get married .. just think .. that is $1600 of credit u have there so you could easily get a $3200 ring for $1600 ... just a thought

I bought my wife a pair of diamond earings, and I am allowed to take them back to the store to double the size, for what I paid for them. Eg: I buy 1/2kt for 200, next year, trade them in for 1kt for another 200. It's like they never lose any value. Most jewelry stores will allow you to trade in a diamond as credit.

Very true. My wife traded her promise ring in for my wedding ring. You get actual retail(what you paid for it most places).

It looks to be about a 3/4 karat stone and depending on the qcc (quality, cut, clarity) you could probably get some good $$$ for it. I think you would have much better luck selling just the diamond though.

Dont get me wrong, the ring itself is gorgeous! However there arent many people looking for a ring made of titanium. Also, a tension ring is a rather new style so most people are still wanting prongs (they like to think that the diamond will be prone to falling out) Take it to a Jewelry store, like Eichorn & Gonzales on navarro next to high-brem. I think you would have the best of luck selling it for a good price there over anywhere else. Green Bros might buy it, but probably not for as much as Eichorn & Gonzales. Either way, all you can do is ask and all they can say is no. Just a simple phone call and a "do yall buy jewelry?" simple enough

Good luck on the sale
