some time in august I put my SR5 up for sale as you guys know, and I was talking to my friend in Indiana about it and he jokingly said "we should convert it to GTS and make real money off of it" I said ok when can I come up? he said "well there is a Drift USA event on the 3rd of sept. I said I'll be there but can we get all this straightend out in a week or so? "yeah". Already even before I left I sarted to see how the trip was going to be I had some suspinsion parts in the mail from T3 that had not arrived still needed to pull my coil overs off of my carbed GTS and etc. well lots of etc. !! I requested time off from work did the last tune up the SR5 would see with the crap 4ac motor and took off friday moning at 4:30
I drove through amarillo, Okla city, some other big city, spring field Miss, St. Luis, indianapolis and 22 'hours later of nothing of interstate and 80 mph I was in richmond indiana around 2:30 in the morning. went straight to bed be cause the next day was going to be an all out cram of shit to do.
next morning I woke up around 7:00 pulled in this GTS hatch gregg had spare nick named the "Bukake sluto" lol. it was a stock GTS that had to be an all out drift car in a day including paint interior suspinsion and motor modifications, I thought ok thatll be easy then it got interesting.
Firstly me and greggs son Take (half Japanese) took all suspinsion components out replaced wore sway bar bushings installed rear springs my short stroke Tokicos. and a chopped lateral rod, ok good so far.
around lunch time I had my front coil overs installed and the car was now sitting about 3/4 of a coke can from the chin spoiler to the ground in the front NICE ! then gregg called and asked how far we where I got him up to speed then he mentioned the Tein camber plates I could borrow SHIT no I have tear it all down again oh well 3 degrees of negitive camber is work it.
the rest of the after noon we took a break waiting on alex the paint guy wich happen to own a mean as hell ae86 coupe, this car is crazy he has a fucking Nissan ka24de in it! with cams, header, air intake afc, valve train head work god it is fast!
we put the bumpers on new front fenders and sanded, filled the car while h was doing all the body work I was changing the clutch haha trying to make the best use of out time. take was putting on the seats and fixing odds and ends. got the new clutchin (around 45 minutes) put my header in my MSD, Koyo radiator electric fans strut bars and shifter. gave it a tune up, NGK plug wires and air intake (also used my super blue silicone heat deflector thing to separate air filters corner fron the rest of engine bay haha)
painted it took around 3 hours single stage black.
then I was all pumped time for a test drive at 3:00 morning I get out side then NO FUCKING BRAKES one of the most important things suddenly gave out. shit I said fuck the trouble shooting what do you have gregg? so I replaced the master cylinder, booster front brake lines and put some fresher looking front calipers on and bled the hell out of it! still felt like shit. after 4 o clock had came and goneI felt like shit and still no results I think I even fell asleep under the car a few times (keep in mind I just drove accross the USA) I finally noticed a shitty line that went between the chasis and the rear end that supplies the rear brakes pulled one from a parts car and installed it re bled it drank 2 red bulls loaded my stuff in the hatch and took off for Dayton Ohio. Nice
I did good in the event, definialty one of the more daring ae86 drivers I was hitting the big turns with full aceleration and just kicking the shit out of the clutch, I spun out going aroud 60 on a banked corner twards a wall a few times haha wow intense. half of my runs where setting up the suspinsion first I had too much crazy over steer, then after going to 14X7's al around I was getting the nuetral feeling I wanted. then the front tires where feeling the wrath of 70 mph braking drifts and shape turn ins, so I opt'd for some advan race tires on 14X 6.5 wheels with a higher off set (greatly reduced my front track width) they where great for around 3 laps then where bald haha. at this time it was 7:30 or so I called it a day and slept in the hatch for around 30 minutes. then we went to the after party YES! drifters like the booze and japanese girls are awesome thats all I can realy say about that.
haha how many guys have had a japanese chick BBQ for you at 2 AM ?
well this is 2 days of my adventure (I was there around a week & 4 days) you guys dont even know what kind of three ring circus this trip turned into I wil post what happend the the SR5 and how I now own 2 MR2's now another time. Crackheads, motr cycle carbs, bad english, cops, impund lots and moving frigerators

Oh yeah, I saw the car form of god I think. there was a FD RX-7 black Knight sports wide body kit the guy had JDM stuff I couldn't even comprehind I felt like having a sezure when I saw this car. and then he popped the hood no 13brew no way he was way too cool for that instead A ALL ROTOR PERIPHIAL PORTED 20B (3 rotor) ITB's, titanium, carbon fiber, stainless steel and aluminium where all that was under that hood he claimed 300+ hp! race gas only of couse and wouldnt idle for shit but god it scared people, he wouldn't floor it out of the shoot hed take it up east in first to around 8k then in second get on it HARD instantly roasting the hell out of the ties and spinning those rotors 10k or greater I know. that fucking car was more like a damn GT car! wow that car had more money in it than I will ever make in a decade. to bad is was way too squirly to drift that well compared to all the nissans.
