I hear that there are these two guy's, who are talkin mess to one another. One of them owns a Mustang Bullit and the other owns a red Saturn coupe. It is my understanding that there will be a showdown this Saturday to settle the score, at Midnight Madness this Saturday. It's domestic vs. Import . I for one am not going to miss that.
Hell, I'll even run the winner if they want  .
Who do ya'll think will be the winner?
Post up and lets hear from the folks at V-town!!!!!

IF IT is the one who works at the mall his dad said he hasnt ran sub 14's but i did just put some tires on it so maybe it will help a little
Last time I ran brandan he ran a 16.5 I think we spoke about this bullit a while back and he ran a 15 I think (if we are speaking about the same bullit) so unless brandan is spraying the hell out of his car I dont think its going to happen. sorry brandan
well if that guy just sucks at driving then brandan may win.

hahahaha
Well,
the catch here is if bwake can make it down the track without his car blowing up... The bullit ran low 14s last time, with some crappy tires and that is what brandon ran too, soo
im thinking whoever catches the best shifts is going to win it
unless brandons car explodes after third gear
and ill race the winner... in a foot race

12-11-2006, 03:17 PM
I think I'm votin for the underdog on this one. Spray the hell out of it. Who cares if it blows up in third gear, right Brandon. Gotta pay to play, lol .................................................. .................................................. ..Nah J/K bro. Spray precisely and it may do the trick. He's (Bullit) got Kuhmos on the back and depending on the weather they may hook or not. Used to run those untill I liquified a set at the track.

Bullit Boy needs to call me, leedog or Kyle and get some pointers so that he DOES NOT LOSE!!!!!!!!
I vote for the Bullit, so he better not make me a liar!!!!!

I know I am not the best driver around, but with the Bullitt community behind me I would like to point you to a website: www.imboc.com/forums (http://www.imboc.com/forums) , its a forum where us Bullitt owners get together and discuss our cars, problems w/ them and times at the track. And if I recall correctly the quickest time slip on the website for a stock Mustang Bullitt GT is a 13.82 so, if I could be pointed to the source of a time slip for a STOCK Mustang GT breaking into the 13's it would be appreciated.

A stock GT will run a 14.1 - 14.2 as most of the magazines and books say ... .2 - .3 secs is not all that much when you factor in traction (tire pressure), temperature, and a Driver .... I have been racing since you were in Diapers ... So dont go out saying that GT's cant hit 13's being Stock when I have DONE IT.........
Bulldog Stang
12-11-2006, 10:19 PM
ps Chris Willy ... thats why you need to get with me, Leedog, or Yellowstang so that we can give you some pointers on bringing your times down LOWER than that 13.82 as you said earlier ..... A Bullit should hit 13.6 with the right driver and other conditions ....

Liar? If thats what you interpreted from my statement then so be it. No intention whatsoever but it will not harm my feelings. Grats on the 12's. But again a stock GT hitting 13's is an amazing feat in my book and is not one of the times you see usually for them. So as for yellowstang's comment about stock GT's getting 13's I still disagree. Thats under the best of circumstances and you will usually see 14's across the board.

12-11-2006, 10:31 PM
disagree all you want it still wont make you any less wrong, where did i say an average driver will run a 13 in it? i didnt say it was an easy feat either did i? i said it had to be a good driver.
ranger made it into the 10's over at svtp in a stock c6 zo6, all themagazines say it only runs around an 11.7, are you going to sit there and say he didnt do it just because of something you read in a magazine?
Bulldog Stang
12-11-2006, 10:32 PM
again .. Conditions, and Driver ..... Some of us have alot more time behind the wheel than others ..... for example .. if I give you my car which ran a best of 12.92 and I let you drive it .. do you think that you can hit that same # ??? Probably not ... there are alot of things to consider when you are trying to get the best times .... for example (and yo ushould write this down)
Weight - how much does your car weigh ?? can you reduce the weight at all ??? Take out the passenger seat, rear seats, rear seat bracket, spare tire, speakers if you have some, how much fuel is in your tank ??? Fuel weighs too .. you want to run an 1/8th of a tank or so at the track
Temperature - What is your engine temp .. did you drive it to the track ?? how long did you let it cool down if you drove it ?? do you have ice for the manifold to bring the temperature down some ... Is the air outside cold, warn or hot ?? How much humidity is in the air ??? is your car tuned for cold weather ???
Traction - What kind of tires are u running ?? what is your tire pressure ??? Are you running on Street Tires, Drag Radials, Street Slicks or Slicks ??? What kind of suspension do you have ??? are they adjustable ??? etc ...
There are a lot of factors that you have to figure in when you actually go out and drag race .. you dont just pull up to the staging lanes and hope for the best because your gonna do the worst ... you have to take all of those things into consideration and play with them all and see how your car and YOU are going to react to all of that .... once you figure it all out and how your car works and runs, then you will become an experience driver where you know what the car is going to do before it even does it ....
we are more than willing to help you out, IF you want to learn .. if you want to be arrogant and think that you know it all and know everything there is to know about your bullit, then your wrong. Every car is different and so is every Driver!!!! I have seen stock bullits run 13.7 - 13.6 at the track plenty of times .. the guy on your other forum or whatever who hit the 13.82 is the fastest one who visits that particular board .. not the best time in a bullit ...
Again, if you want to learn and want some advice and help ... then just ask ... how do you think that we got where we are today ?? by asking questions, taking advice, and learning everything there is to know about our cars, inside and out ....

I am fully aware of the lack of knowledge I contain and I know of all the conditions that come into play at the track(not to sound arrogant of course) but that last post was almost the same thing you read on any website. I know that 99.9% of all people on this website are far more knowledgable than I and I respect that. Ditto for experience. But from my experience and the material presented before me I presented an arguement that did not intend to start the above bashings. I did ask for help if I recall: if I could be pointed to the source of a time slip for a STOCK Mustang GT breaking into the 13's it would be appreciated
So if the two men with far more experience would love to continue to bash on me than so be it. As far as I am concerned I know what my cars potential is and it will break 13's under the correct conditions that we all now know thanks to Bulldog.
The problems with my car are the clutch and tires. I just replaced my tires with some Kumho's and I know it will help some. Again I am not want to point fingers or call liars but I really would be grateful to see a run or timeslip for myself of a stock Bullitt running 13.7.
Before you know me please dont start saying stuff like like I act like I know everything about BullitT's,as I am far from it.
Let me know if the bashing will be continued.

We dont want to BASH you as you think we are ... we are pointing out things that we have seen first hand or have done ourselves to assist in educating you some .... I can find my time slip of my 13 sec run when i was stock ... i also ran several 14's that night until i got some of those above mentined factors figured out .. then i hit my 13.97
take out your air filter for the pass, then put it back in after. I wouldnt let air out of your tires unless you have drag radials or slicks, youll just spin like a mutha at the line with street tires. as far as taking out your interior thats only good for about a tenth of a second and thats if you take everything out passenger seat and rear seat ( which isnt so hard, about an hour and a 10mm, 15mm, and 5/16" socket but I may be mistaken ) seat removal for me takes about 2 minutes and only requires a 15mm no back seat, lol. the 10 and 5/16 are for the back seat. spare tire removal is going to be the easiest.

Hey Chris, I personally know Bulldog and Yellowstang and they are standup guys. I had my share of give and take with Bulldog early on which led to our grudge race. We have become good friends and respect each other alot. He and yellowstang as well as Leedog probably collectively know more about stangs than anyone I know. Get with them and discuss your issues.
Tire tip of the day: I ran street tires most of the time at the track. They were Z rated Kuhmos. Radial street tires don't work the same as drag radials.
Heating these tires by running through the water and doing extended burnout will work contrary to gaining good traction, not to mention you will eat away the thread of the tire :( .
Drop tthe pressure to about 26 psi, do a small burnout after going around the waterbox. Try to stay away from the waterbox by driving around it.
Spray a little wd-40 on a rag and wipe it on the rear fenders before racing so the rubber that breaks loose from the tire does not stick to the rear fenders of the car. Then just wash it off at the end of the night.
BTW- DOn't wait for the light to turn green as most people think, Launch when it turns yellow on a Pro tree by the time the car hooks it would have already turned green 8)

Well bulldog, when exactly do you plan on eating Z28's for breakfast? because i thought that was supposed to happen at the track last time
and in Chris' (bullitT driver) defense, last time he took it to the track it was
a. only his second time at the track
b. hot, humid, and all around shitty weather
c. and as all midnight madnesses seem to be CROWDED AS HELL ( so he can't get the optimal 1-2 runs in before he gets the best time)
so lay off chris' back, quit threatening him that if he doesn't run in the thirteens he is a bad driver
the truth is WAY more often than not you see Mustang GT's running in low 14's and being the fact that he has had his liscence for less than TWO years and his car less than one i believe a high 13 and maybe a REAL low 14 is very respectable
and when Mr. Miracle driver bulldog ran his 13.97 ( a whopping .03 seconds away from a 14...) he had his liscence for how long? and had been to the track how many hundreds of time?
and ps
losing to a saturn isn't a big deal when he has enough nitrous to blow up a small japanese town

well you kind of brought this so called "bashing" upon yourself. you came in waiving the bullshit flag. i simply said that a GOOD driver should see 13's in stock trim, i wasnt refering to you at all i was just making a comment. you are still calling bs even after saying that 99.9 percent of people are more knowledable then you and you respect that. you didnt respect a thing you just said we were wrong simply because you had never heard of it.
and to jitsu jr. yes the avg. driver will run a low 14 in a stock gt we wernt denying that fact. and bulldog never said he was a bad driver if he didnt run a sub 14 sec pass. oh and you first run in the 12's wasnt it like a 12.99? it didnt matter did it you were still in the 12's.
and as far as the car not runninig right, you run what you brung.
ps Chris Willy ... thats why you need to get with me, Leedog, or Yellowstang so that we can give you some pointers on bringing your times down LOWER than that 13.82 as you said earlier ..... A Bullit should hit 13.6 with the right driver and other conditions ....
yes indeed, it barely broke the borderline of the 13 to 12 second range (but is now in the mid 12's and soon to improve), but the point is,
if chris runs a 14.03 which is still a 14 is it not practically ALMOST as respectable as a 13.97 because in my math they round to the same number
and from this quote above, it seems as though he was incinuating that chris "SHOULD run a 13.6" which means if he doesn't he isn't a good driver...
grendel
12-12-2006, 08:42 PM
you are right it makes him an avg. driver because the avg person run a low 14
leedog
12-12-2006, 08:53 PM
I think yelllowstang is arguing his own point, not bulldogs. and bulldog did also say with the "Right" conditions. He never said or incinuated that he was a bad driver if he didn't run 13's. There is nothing wrong with a lack of experience. Kudos to him for going to the track and being responsible at such a young age. That is the only way to gain it. 13's are totally possible. Even in a gt. IT HAS BEEN DONE..... http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/sh ... p?t=344464 (http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=344464) We aren't making this crap up. And yes, a 13.97 is as respectable as a 14.03, but with the 13.97, you have the satisfaction of saying you have a 13 sec. car! With the 14.03, you can only say that if lying doesn't bother you. I don't know anyone that says truthfully that their car has only runs 14's when their best time slip is a 13.97. Right?

yellowstang i really dont understand what seems to be your problem other than you are not looking at what i wrote. I do have 100% respect for a person that I come across with more knowledge than me. You mainly only see this respect in person as I mainly see this superior knowledge only in person. Never did I say yall were wrong or call the "bullshit flag" after Bulldog said that he did it. I never called BS and then somehow I begin to get a nametag that identifies me as an asshole. I would not call Bulldog a liar, I do not know him so I can only assume that he is telling the truth. I mean its not right to make judge a person you dont know right? Thats prejudice, looked down upon by many. Which gets back to your problem, I just wish that you would lighten up, maybe re-read what I wrote and take a new approach to this whole arguement.
PS: Every please stop posting that a GT can run 13's I said along time ago I belive there is no need for it.

Once again, I know I'm not the best driver around as I stated earlier but, lets not throw around 13's for a stock GT like it happens everyday.
I dont disagree with the facts i disagree the fact at how it was presented. From the connotation I read it as its a simple everyday task, LIKE I ALREADY SAID.

WE know what a GT is capable of .. so thanks for the defense and presenting the FACTS!!!! If Chris does not want our help or does not believe our FACTS, then he will have to learn the hard way and educate himself more and believe what he reads on the internet instead of us LOCALS who have SEEN IT OR DONE IT Personally!!!!!! take out your air filter for the pass, then put it back in after.
Free mods are the phucking best.
http://www.ultimateresourceguides.com/c ... emods.html (http://www.ultimateresourceguides.com/content/freemods/LS1-freemods.html)
there is a few mods you can do to gain a few hp.
hey dean what does the last thing hp tip on that page do exactly, how does connecting two coolant lines directly together instead of through the throttle body help? just curious
this focuses on gm products but is universal for all tb with coolant going to them.
taken from: http://www.thirdgen.org/coolantbypass
This procedure is considered a "free modification."
After doing this myself on my engine (88' 350 TPI) I noticed a difference in the throttle responce right away, as far as horsepower, well I've heard you may get 5 additional HP out of this.
From what I have read GM incorperated this into the throttle body to prevent any kind of freezing of the TB valve in extreme cold conditions by having water from the cooling system run through it.
This heats up the throttle body quite a bit (just try touching the "Tuned Port Injection" plate after a long drive) and from what I understand there is a possibility that the incoming air may be warmed slightly.
You want the air going into your intake system as cool as possible I've heard, cooler air has more density, that's all I know.
There are two ways to do this, both have the same results, I will cover both in this article and you can decide which is to your liking.
NOTE: If you live in an area where extreme cold conditions exist I would not recommend this procedure.
I probably wont make it out this weekend seeing its my moms birthday.

PS: Every please stop posting that a GT can run 13's I said along time ago I belive there is no need for it.
So why do we keep saying I am not believing the facts? anyone? I'm tired of getting on this thread everyday to just see someone else saying that I do not agree with it. FOR THE LAST TIME. A MUSTANG GT CAN RUN A 1/4 MILE WITHIN 13'S.
guys,
we are arguing over whether stock mustangs run 13s everyday
the truth here is it happens not very often, and the conditions must be right
im sure everybody can believe that
oh yeah,

It is NOT official but one of the guys that lived here was supposed to take his mustang out and race another mustang, but I am not sure if it's still going to happen due to some engine issues. So there MIGHT be another, but it's not 100%. I'll talk to his brother about it tomorrow.

did anybody see the white '98 T.A. from Bloomington blow the rearend up? That car was a heavy M.F. to push on the trailer. That's the first F- body in Bloomington that gots the balls to blow up a 10 bolt. That's just a hard core hot rodder. spends a $100 in fuel and gets there not to even make a pass. He was the second person in line to make a pass and the car didn't get past the light. Mr. Goat had a bad night. I about blew my balls trying to push the car up. Thank God the rearend didn't lock up.
