This year is the first year for the "Father's Day Show" to have classes. It will be a judged show, (out of town judges), and the host club will not be in competition with the participating cars/trucks. We will have first and second place trophys in each class, plus the Best of Show award, and a Long Distance Award.
The "Specialty" class is one of a few where the import cars could participate, if they wanted. The participants will vote only for their favorite host club cars, every other trophy will be decided by the judges' scores. The flyer and registration form will be on the club website soon. http://www.crossroadscruisers.com/

would the under construction be in specialty or is it a finished only show?

You could put it in specialty if you wanted. Where someone puts their car is up to the participant. You could put a car in the "muscle car" class, "car" class, wherever you want. If you want to show your car off and you want to participate, we'd love to have you. So, to answer the last half of your question, no, a car would not be required to be finished to be in the show. I did forget to mention, none of the available classes will have the undercarriage judged.

thats gay, imports in specialties class. why wouldnt there be an import class or classes? there are plenty of imports that would do the show i know of a few from this site alone. what charities are the funds going to help? just curious.

J.,
Like I stated, this is the first year for having classes. We have no way of knowing who, or how many of what will show up. Last year there was only one import, and none at all for the three previous years.
The thought behind the "Specialty" class and the imports, was to NOT exclude the import guys/gals.

J, nothing says if you bring an import, that you have to enter the "Specialty" class either. You can enter the car by year also. All the cars will be judged for cleanliness and workmanship, (undercarriage excluded) not what's right or wrong on the car.
Next year, when we decide on classes, we will use this year's participation to determine the classes for 2008.

Charities?
Youth and Family Services

Glad to see they are having classes this year..............somebody finally listened! As far as projects....in years past CC had always stated that cars had to be finished (i.e., no primer, missing trim, etc.)
Has that changed? If so, how do you judge a project, when it is competing against a finished vehicle?

Never been a big fan of the unfinished class or projects. Just me being me.....take it for what its worth.

You are correct Dennis, but the CC club does not need to be the one to tell you that you can't enter your car. How do you judge it? That would be tough, but when you enter the unfinished car, it has to be with the understanding that you as the owner entered it because you wanted to show it off in a car show, not just to take home a trophy. I really don't expect to see too many folks wanting to spend the registration fee to compete with painted/finished cars, since there is not a "Work in Progress" class this year.

yeah you have to participate knowing that you won't win anything. however there will be people there that will enjoy looking at a project some of those may be thinking of starting one and will be able to get some ideas from him and on the otherside of the coin there will be those that have been thru the resto and can inject some pointers or nice to know things that cruisn'low might have over looked! he could also meet others that might be friend him and help him out with his project thats just my thoughts since i've been on both sides of that coin!

Are some of you forgetting that it is not necesarrily about winning or even getting a trophy ????

This car is to basically get donations for local charities ...... It just gives the gear heads a chance to participate in those local charities ....

i dont give a rats ass about a trophy although i need more in my collection. i just want to show off my work. who knows i might just enter the rolling chassis with the drive train. all i know is that the truck wont be complete by then. i just wanna go hang out and have fun while showing off what ive been up to in my garage. it will have some things to catch your attention but nothing over the top.
