I have an 89 LX that used to be a 4cyl and is now a V8. I was trying to get some struts that go on the 5.0 but was informed that I could not and I had to get the struts that originally went on there. I was also told that the spindles would have to be changed if I tried to get those struts. Does anyone know if this is true. I just wanted to get some stronger struts to help support the heavier engine as it has the originals on there at this time...

I'm not sure on the Fox body, but check with Mustang Parts Specialities in Georgia.........I will look for their website. I would think if you replaced, struts, springs and the lower a-arms, you should be OK.

I have just recently replaced the stock springs with C springs and need some struts as they are worn out.

All you would have to do is call the auto parts store and ask them if the part numbers for the 4 cyl and the 8 and see if there the same. And if you want you can check the bearings and rotors to see if there the same as well...I am thinking they are.

I think that they are too ... I believe that the only difference between the 4 & 8 was the rear ends ... I believe everything else is the same ...
Sounds like that idiot over at Napa in KC is trying to rip you off ...

Maybe, I may just get some from San Antonio as they are about $15.00 cheaper there at Auto Zone...

maybe i should think about doin the same to mine cauz i also have the swap in my 91 LX and it rides really crappy, but then again i did take off some more weight switching back to a carb but i think i might go ahead and get allnew suspension too at least for a more comfortable ride

I can tell you just switching the springs has helped, but the new struts would really improve the ride quality. I may also need to get some new bushings eventually...
