This post will show you what I did in the first stage of building up my Camaro. There are many opinions about what can be done first depending on what your opinion is. I started researching my build 3-4 months before I spent one single penny on any parts. Anything worth doing is worth doing correctly. I Got my info from talking to guy's on LS1 Tech, reading other related LS1 material, ect....... . In order for your car to perform well you must first increase its ability to breathe better. It's just like us, the better we breath, the better we can perform. Money is always an issue so it is important that you shop around for good prices. I use 2-3 sources for my parts that have good equipment in stock and have fast delivery time. PM me if you want to know what they are. Stage one is all about Breathing and getting better current conductivity through better Spark plug wires.

1 x 00-02 LS1 SLP "FlowPac" Cold-Air Package
1 x 99-02 LS1 Jet Performance Programmer
1 x 93-02 Camaro Vinyl Decal Rear "Camaro" Inserts (BLACK LETTERING PLEASE)
1 x 98-02 LS1 Magnaflow Cat Back System
1 x 01-02 LS1 SLP High-Flow MAF Sensor
1 x 98-02 LS1 MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor Wire Set

$1,193.32 Total price for the above stated parts. Some of these can be done free mod style but I chose not to go that route until a different stage. Will address that later.
I chose to do the lid because stock lids are very restrictive, and also added a K&N filter to boot. The Cold air intake or "Flowpac is designed to work along the same concept as what is also known as Ram Air which pushes Cold air (better than warm air) into your lid then the throttle body as car speed increases so does the airflow. The "FlowPac" combines Cold-Air Induction Kit, High-Flow Air-Box Lid, F-Body Smooth Bellows (for reduction of air turbulance), and K&N Air Filter to create a single, jointly engineered package worth up to 25 horsepower over stock. The mass air flow (MAF) sensor that I have was designed for stock or modified engines. The lightweight (1lb less than stock) composite MAF has a 13% larger inside diameter than stock (85mm vs. 75mm) and will add up to 10 additional horsepower. This unit will flow 90 CFM more than stock (895 vs. 805). With the screen removed (not recommended for street use) it will flow over 1000 CFM! The SLP MAF flows enough air for engines up to 600 HP!
Removed the old exhaust and replaced it with a Magnaflow. Why Magnaflow you may ask. Because it is built from the same materials as a Borla and prices out at half the cost. Plus, it just sounds plain badass at wide open throtle and is very civilized when I use the car for daily driving. I like to hear myself think when I drive unlike the Loudmouth sytem or the flowmaster.
Specs: 3" Tubing, 5" X 8" X 18" Muffler, 3.5" TIP, Rear Exit

The Jet performance programmer was a good way to tie together my stage 1 and stage 2 performance mods. It gives you a high degree of flexability at a reasonable price. This programmer includes the ability to modify air/fuel ratios, ignition, shift points, shift firmness, speed limiter, and rev limiter specs, and helps increase your horsepower and torque by tying your mods together.

Well thats it for now boys and girls. Stay tuned for writeup on stage 2 of the build up!

BTW- The Decals are good for another 30 HP,lol
