Check out this Y pipe I just finish fabbing up for a 2000 trans-am.
3" exhaust that goes into a 3 to 4" Burns merge collector than to a 4" electric cutout then back to 3". Made my own oval tubing to give clearance on the drivers side. Exhaust tooks up tight under the body, no rattles and plenty of cleareance between body and exhaust.
Car did have a Kooks Y-pipe installed. Car was actually quiter at idle than before. Most of the exhuast pings you here in the piping is gone. When on the street the rasspyness of normal ORY pipes is gone. Car now has a different tone to it but sounds awsome.

Not bad for someone that doesn't do exhaust work, huh?
Going to dyno this set-up this week to see how much it improved over the previous exhaust.

Well we just finished up dynoing the trans-am with the new Y-pipe.
Only lost 1rwhp and 0.7 tq. But what is even better is we picked up 10rwhp and 10 tq from 2500-4000 rpms. This is compared to open headers with 20" extensions.
Compared to the previous kooks y-pipe with gutted cats and open cut-out we picked up close to 6rwhp and 6tq across the entire graph.
We then closed the cut-out and went through the exhaust and only lost 9rwhp and 5tq up top nothing down low. (SLP dual dual muffler)
Car is making over 500rwhp on motor, stock cubic inch.
Car just sounds awesome.

Here is a dyno graph of the car. He took it to Houston to back up my numbers on the Mustang dyno but also to post since everyone wants to see dyno jet numbers.
