Oh, I must have missed something!!!! Since there are no other forms of racing, but ILLEGAL STREET RACING, then a site by the name of V-Town Racing must be referring to street racing.
The two of twenty-five sections on this site, which are dedicated to racing deal with legal venues.
Now, lets be adults and think about this for a second. In todays society, with todays laws, when someone can be ticketed or even taken to jail for participating/spectating in an illegal street race; Do you think it is wise for the owners of this site to openly promote or condone ILLEGAL STREET RACING?
If you have concerns about the changes occuring, please take it to the PMs
i understand where you're coming from with the owners of the site not condoning "illegal street racing", but if we do....are we not taking our responsibilities into our own hands anyway.
why not, if we have a section for talking shit about each other, why not also have one specifically for those people that street race? makes sense. you don't have to condone something, just to allow it on the site. just throw up a banner saying. "Vtownracing.com does not condone illegal street racing(but we know it's gonna happen anyway)"

I do find some of these new rules a bit harsh.
Many other forums that i attend have a policy of posting NWS...
in other words Not Work Safe.
For images, discussions, and whatnot that are above pg-13 ratings.
Many of us are way over 13....we have R rated discussions at times.
These "Rules" are extremely strict....more strict then almost any other site (other then one)....and IMHO it will lead to a lesser site.
Too many different subforums...means folks will be all over the board....thus going against the grain of having a "community".
As one of the members who has been here since it first came around (i'm number 14 :D ). I find these rules to be way to strict.
It's a victoria forum....there aren't many of us here who are active as it is....make things more strict....and the active population will drop even worse.
Some of the posts in the past that would now be against the rules have actually helped pull in more active members, or at least we get more postings at a time.
The idea of a flames section is interesting....but not necessary...moderators are suppose to control the members....because members get excited and start posting things anyways. If the moderators don't find it appropriate...then they have gotta do their job.
Sorry if i'm coming off a bit steamed....it's just the freedom of this forum is being restricted. Yes i know that absolute freedom means imposing your freedoms on another persons freedoms...but having a militaristic policing approach is not a solution.
in regards to illegal street racing....
Yeah we all know the site does not condone it....but it's a public forum....if idiots are stupid enough to make callouts...after already describing their cars, names, where they hangout, and whatever else would give the police a reason to find them....then let the police take care of it. A site does not have to condone something for it to be posted. Yeah it's a racing site....so does it condone everything doing w/ legal racing ??
Does it condone everything done to cars ??? So should we stop talking about mods done to our cars since they could go against federal emissions standards....about lowering our cars more then the legal limit ?
I'm not intending to come across as a person completely oppposed to what you are doing w/ the site....rather i'm hoping that what i observe will help streamline the site into being more of what it needs.

wow dtd that was well put. i agree adding more restrictions isnt going to make the site any better than it was. as you stated we see the most posts or new threads when someone is shit talking. people like drama and that is all there is to it. i have been to a few sites before where someone was banned because they didnt agree with a mods post to a topic. i am on this site alot more than some of the other members and overall i dont think the previous site was that bad. some of the changes are alright but for the most part i agree with you, people will stop visiting the site as much

Guys, Guys and Gals:
Chill. Nobody has been banned from this site. The guidelines are in place because they NEED to be. They may grow in the future.
I am not here to ban people. I will if I have to, but that will be a last resort. The guidelines will serve as justification to support that action, if it should occur.
Everyone should continue to post as they have posted in the past. If there is a problem, I or other Mods will let you know.
Chillout and enjoy yourself.
