Well, our 2nd day here and already are having problems with the hotel. We have stayed in Holiday Inn's NUMEROUS times before and like the rooms and accomodations and what not.
Well today, we got fuckin burglarized .... Here is a Formal Complaint that I have filed with the Hotel Chain.
On 11-09-07 at approximately 3:45 PM, I returned to my room and removed my items (money, keys, etc...) and placed them on the table (computer). I counted my money and had $108.00. My wife and I left our room and went to the swimming pool. While leaving, we noticed that there was a Housekeeping employee in the hallway. At approximately 4:30 - 4:45 PM, we were returning to our room and we saw the same Housekeeping employee coming from the direction of our room, which was on the corner (Room # 624). I had a Do Not Disturb sign on the door and thought that it was odd that the Housekeeping lady was coming from the direction of my room. Upon entering my room, I discovered that I was missing $100 Cash(5 - $20 Bills). I then notified Management of the incident. I then went outside and began checking the door. I discovered that if the door is not pulled, it does not lock, therefore allowing someone to push the door open, even when it is locked. Management checked the door to see if anyone had used a key to enter our room and no one else had entered our room. I also showed Management that the door was faulty/malfunctioning and they advised me that they would move me to another room. I later refused to move to another room due to the location of the room that they were going to put me in. I would have been staring at a construction site the rest of my stay. Management took no responsibility for my room being Burglarized and basically blamed me for not reporting the faulty door. I did not know that the door was faulty until AFTER I was burglarized. I feel that they should take some responsibility due to the door malfunctioning as it is not MY JOB to ensure that the doors work properly. I am also a Police Officer and I have also filed a Police Report with the South Padre Island Police Department. Please feel free to contact me by email or by phone. I would either like my cash to be replaced or I want a refund on my credit card.
I will NEVER stay in a Holiday Inn again!!!!!!
