During autox...tires talking to you is very important...lets you know when you are at the limit... During drifting...the squeel of the tires up front is what becomes very important....a little understeer is good.....for setting up a hard drift angle...depending on the situation...i wait till i hear the right squeel from the rear tires.....and then start really working on the steering control. It takes a few corners at first to get used to tire changes...but after getting used to how tires squeel and react on different pavements...i did a pretty good transition to the drift venue scene. Throttle control throughout the entire drift run is important...and typically i can pick things up by the sound of the tires and feel of the steering.
Can't wait to goto another drift event...even w/ my open diff.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't need a lecture on autox. That is my home for racing. That is all I did my 3 year air force stay in NM. I have participated and won in plenty. Mainly STX for my cobra, and street moddified with my civic. I know how important tire talking is, and air pressure, and chalking the tires, and control, and steering response. I was merely making a joke about how a car sounds while on a drift lap. Besides, no one said what kind of music to listen to "While" racing, rather "Before". No offense intended. Are you an SCCA member here in the houston region? I have been wanting to go, but seems like too many people out there. I was told they run stock on one day, and mod on the other. It was kinda nice when you were forced to watch both classes, when we were resetting knocked over cones on the course sitting at the back of the track by our lonesomes.
really, just about anything. i just got the Saw II soundtrack, so i've been listening to that...on the way to a race, i throw in slipknot self-titled. and while i'm runnin...not a damn thing...i like listening to the car, it speaks to me...when the powerband is coming to an end, what my tires are doing, and god forbid, if something is wrong (shut up...i'm aware that there's a lot wrong with the car) lol.

I've been to a few HOUSCCA events...but not in over a year...kinda sucks that you end up spending 25 bucks...not to mention the gas from victoria to GGP, and only getting 3 runs. Last i heard they only do the 2 day events for regional events...otherwise it's morning and afternoon runs for HOUSCCA. The BMW club is suppose to host them out at the police training grounds or something like that...heard those are a blast...just jever have a chance to go.
The San Antonio events and Spokes events are much more worth the while. For the same entry fee you get 8-12 runs...and it's all day....not to mention Houston autoxes seem a bit stuck up compared to the other two groups.
Next time i get a chance to run in houston...i'll post it on the board.
Makin Luv: Dave Mathews :D[/quote]
you make love while cruisin?damn thats kinda difficult ive tried almost ran into a fence.lol.

I agree that it depends on my mood. when I'm angry, pantera, slipknot, tool, static x... anything heavy and loud.... when i'm smokin... trance, tool, or some good r&b or rap. i listen to a wide variety, but that doesn't really include country. not that i have anything against it, but the only time i really listen to it is at craptus canyon. Tool is my fav, aenima my fav album by them, and static x... and trance
