Here is the updated one with the new title...Just wanted to put the word out and let everyone know that a few of us here are planning to go over the LMP for a little friendly competition. Should be some fun runs in store. Can't wait to show hardwork how the sedan handles her shit on the track! haha
I'm guessing we could meet in Victoria, and cruise that way or just meet up at the track. Apparently the test and tune starts around 5. Anyone chime in with ideas if they have any!

I'm not gonna make it sadly. Going with a built engine for the car so she is under the knife for the next few months.

Cool, good luck with the build up. I know i will have my hands full with that one cause just H/C your making what i do on spray, now its going to have a built motor, :wtg: its going to beast for sure.
And if you want to know what I run in the 1/4 ask undercover agent 1c62nv to post up some more info.
Cant wait for you to show me how the sedan handles her shit at the track. Keep us posted.
THAT WAS EASY

wow, i thought that G8 was already built, and from what i herd it was pretty stout, so now you cant see what it runs on that setup

Getting it built? So what power adder you going with?

It was built, but had a stock block. Want to go with something stronger. I'm hoping I can get my hands on a whipple supercharger and shoot for over 750 to the wheels but we shall see how everything works out. Really wanting to be able to go to the track every once in a while and run low 10's or high 9's for the hell of it.

I still need a new wastegate and retune before i can run my car,it cuts out alot.

I'm pretty sure your only options for supercharging the G8 are Magnuson and Procharger. The maggies come in 1.9L and 2.3L while I think you can get whatever headunit you want from PC.

yes sir I know, but I'm pretty sure they are supposed to release them here in the states soon. But we shall see. If not I'll go maggie or procharger.

close to 500,dont really wanna go higher with the stock block. Im gonna go built 2.4l later this year and leave it at about 650ish but ill be making monster torque with that setup.

You can always YouTube it man. Lol let's just say Patrick did an awesome job with it. I'm going with something a little louder this time. Might even consider cherry bombs.
Jspeed I think we will have a pretty even race when I get done. Well at least until I have to rebuild the tranny and throw some stronger axles on the rear. Lol
jordanj
05-11-2011, 08:16 AM
Im down to test them out when your done. My car should be at 100% in the summer, then its saving for a built motor. Im already 2/3'rds the way there with a built head and transmission lol.

Weather is not looking to good for this, possible thunder storms fri an sat so we might have to reschedule it
hardwork
05-13-2011, 12:48 AM
That might be for the best since maybe 2 people were only going to make it anyway. Any ideas on the next date? How bout a wed? at SAR or in June? Would anybody want to do drag racing this month since the mile is getting closer?

I'm not sure how long it's going to take to get the new engine and get it all set up in the car, but I'm very sure that as soon as I do I'll be ready to get to the track.
jordanj
05-13-2011, 08:26 AM
Yeah same here,im not sure how much longer its gonna be till my car is 100%. I still need a new wastegate and retune badly,i cant even really go through the gears without it hitting boost cut from this crappy wastegate boost spiking.

That sucks, well i went to my cousins speed shop this weekend an he says I have a lifter tapping. So no more drag racing till I see the extent of the damage rather it be just a bad lifter or a scarred cam lobe an bad lifter.

Weather has cleared up but it's going to be humid an 15-20 moh winds sse
I'm either headed to H-town or staying at the house so I vote to reschedule. Maybe when people's cars are ready to actually run at the track... I'd hate to see folks just break shit when we get there, that's no fun.
