2012 fastest street legal shootout-Victoria region

OK everybody after a little bit of thinking I'm trying to set up a race for later in the year (sometime around october) I think this will be fun. last year we tried but i think the fact that i wanted to post times scared a lot of people away! So regardless of what you heard or read there was NO WINNER in the 2011 event.
This year will be a little different.... NO TIMES POSTED FIRST TO THE FINISH WINS!!!! This event will also be 1/8th mile( for certain issues PM me for details)
As far as track its not yet decided i will get in contact with Freddy and see if we can set up anything if not maybe we can try lonestar or another location.
RULES: Event is open to street legal cars or trucks...
1.) Stock suspension styles only
2.) Max tire size is 30x10.5 slick or 275 radials...
3.) Must have mufflers and working lights all around
4.) *3000 lb minimum weight with driver. (winners will scale after each round no scale no win)
5.) Must have stock glass no lexan allowed.
6.) Must have all paperwork (license and insurace on vehicle)
7.) Once at track there will be a short cruis down the highway and back.... ONCE AGAIN... NO CRUISE NO WIN!!!
8.) Power adders not restricted.....
9.) If your car breaks there will be no refunds
** this weigh seems fair as i know of some cars weighing about 2500lbs and some over 3000 this is a median.
ENTRY & PAYOUT:
200 entry fee. no money will be kept and will all be paid out accordingly.
payout is to be discussed soon i am currently trying to round up sponsors for event to raise up pot winnings. all interested in sponsoring please contact me for more info.
All entries will recieve a shirt and a ticket for free burger fries and drink. Shirts will also be available to purchase.

Arrive at the track early as all entries WILL attend the cruise. ALL PEOPLE ATTENDING EVENT WILL PARK IN DESIGNATED AREA!
two rounds of time trials and the eliminations start. Each car will recieve a number and numbers will be picked for pairs via cards in staging lanes. This will not be round robin event. You will have time to work on car and refuel etc etc... probably about 45 minutes to an hour between rounds.
ANY questions let me know Im also open to suggestions! This is meant to be in fun so anyone looking to stir up drama will be subject to disqualification.
This is meant to be for Victoria area but Im still deciding on how far to go. Id like to get a lot of entries together for a good size pot that can be distributed through out the rounds!

200 is a Lil steep IMO, not trying to compare, but in Cali it ranged from 25-50 pending if it was all weekend camp and run. they tried that much but there was not much of a turn out when they dropped the entry fee people flocked to join and made for great competition

^^^^ Yea its all fun till you have to pay for parts and maintenance. Thats the problem around here everyone thinks it has to be 1/4 mile or its nothing... From a drivers view point 1/4 mile is the more boring of the two unless maybe you have a factory corvette or honda.

If you look up north with all the drag radial racing taking off its mainly all 1/8th mile. It is some of the best racing you have ever seen!!!! All im saying is dont knock it till you run it.


IF you want to run something longer there is always the texas mile..... very interesting

Its ok i didnt like it at first either after years and years of running both the 1/8th mile has got me spoiled and 1/4 is just boring...

If i wanted to see how fast my car can top out at id go to the TM with a different gear set

i dont think 1/8th is very much fun in a bike tho GSX if thats what your hinting at.... That I can see as a crotch rocket is usually not a hard leaver.

Id like to see an event that starts out with a 1/4 mile and immediately leads into an autocross course while still being timed. That way no car has a particular advantage over another.

Acceleration, braking, and handling are all tested at once.

For everyone this is a event held at a dragstrip! acceleration contest! I could care less how fast you brake and if your car can turn or hop over a mud mound!

I can speak for almost every biker on this......we don't like racing cars cuz of wat could happen. As for a handicap well that's pointless. And nasty I know plenty of guys who would be more than willing to run. But it would have to be an elimination type race. 600 need to be able to run liter bikes cuz I know guys who race 600 and beat busas

I don't think he's insulting ppl... first of all, the bike is your choice, so obviously you're not scared, however... if you're hesitant because of the possibility of something going wrong, well, if u ain't afraid to race it on the streeet, where there's much greater possibility of getting hurt because of distractions, then there should be no reason to hesitate racing on the track, at an organized event, where there are ems on standby, and far less distractions.

I know if i was "hesitant" i damb sure wouldnt be out there with a bike.

I know when i race i try to have a clear mind you always try and play scenarios in your head bouncing the "what would i do if this happened" type of stuff around. All my years of racing i have never seen a doorcar get tangled up with a bike. Not saying it hasnt happened or ever will happened I myself have never seen or heard that.

On the other hand ive seen a lot of people lay over bikes at the track and get hurt. That my friend is a risk you take on a bike.
